Every morning each of these women queued their bodies in that it was time to activate the fat burning, antioxidant boosting and cleansing mode.
Even if they didn’t have an extra 30mins to workout, they never missed this practice.

Lemon water and apple cider vinegar

They all had their warm lemon water each and every morning. Not only that, to assist throughout the day, they would also have a shot of apple cider vinegar – either in a drink, salad or dressing.

These two practices:

1) Warm lemon water first thing on an empty stomach and

2) Apple cider vinegar throughout the day can have wonderful effects on your body

So how do they really affect my body?

The Top 5 Benefits of Lemon Water

1) Alkalizes your Body

Lemons are alkaline forming! A great thing 😉

Contrary to many beliefs, foods like lemon though acidic on the outside are really   alkaline forming once digested, therefore increasing your body’s ph.

What does this mean for you?

It is known, that our blood pH level needs to maintain a slightly alkaline level to keep us healthy.
The optimum pH level for your body is 7.35 – 7.45
The more alkaline a food the more it supports your body in creating and maintaining a higher pH level.

On the flip side when we consume acid forming foods e.g. meats, dairy, sodas and processed foods, our bodies in turn works hard to return our bodies to an alkaline state by releasing minerals rich in alkaline such as magnesium and phosphorus back into our bloodstream.

Acidic foods then forces our body  to source alkaline from our bones, teeth and organs. When this occurs it not only causes fatigue, but also does not support the proper functioning of our immune system. This then creates and environment more susceptible to diseases and cancers.
There has been a lot of research that shows the link to cancers and an acidic pH. Cancer cells are known to thrive in an acidic environment and die off in an alkaline environment.**

2) Aids in Digestion

Fresh lemon juice in warm water on an empty stomach early in the morning not only helps flush out toxins that can slow fat burning, it also encourages the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach which further aids in digestion.

3) Cleanses the Liver

The lemons stimulate your liver to create enzymes, filter out toxins and is also a stimulant and solvent for uric acid and other harmful toxins that may be present within your body

Studies done by researchers which were submitted to the BMC Pharmacology states that,
“hesperidin (a citrus bioflavonoid found in lemons) demonstrates the ability to protect the liver from damage.”

4) Supports Immune Function & Promotes Healing

Lemons contain a high level of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which can assist in anti-inflammatory effects, and aid respiratory symptoms including asthma.
Vitamin C is also known as an essential nutrient that promotes wound healing and the maintenance of connective tissue and cartilage

5) Promotes Clear Skin

The antioxidants in lemons help combat free radicle damage to the skin that may be caused by exposure to harmful UV rays or toxins present in the environment. The Vitamin C assists in decreasing wrinkles, acne and blemishes.

Now with your boost by simple drinking your warm glass of lemon water first thing in the morning, let’s amp up your body with the energy boosting fat burner:

Apple Cider Vinegar

Raw apple cider vinegar that is unpasteurized aids not only in digestion, but is a great digestive tract cleanser that promotes regularity. So with your digestion functioning well, this allows your skin to become more radiant. Who wouldn’t want that?
ACV also aids our body in repairing its regenerative cellular tissues.

The consumption of ACV before a high carbohydrate meal has been proven to improve blood sugar levels for persons with type 2 diabetes *. The acetic acid abundant within ACV has been shown to slow the digestion of simple carbohydrates, which in turn regulates blood sugar levels from the sudden spikes.

Apple cider vinegar kills bacteria by using its antibacterial properties to fight off infections that may cause sore throats.

Studies done by the NCBI has shown that the acetic acid contained within apple cider vinegar suppresses the build up o body fat and liver lipids. The pectin present in acv lowers your body’s ability to absorb fat , which is beneficial for weight loss.
